Trio medevaced after tractor trailer accident on St. Lewis Causeway

RCMP are searching for a man armed with a knife who broke into house in Marystown Friday night.
A serious accident involved a tractor trailer on the St. Lewis Causeway early this morning, Sept. 13, resulted in three people being medivaced to St. Anthony.

Three people have been medevaced to St. Anthony after a tractor trailer left the road and wound up partly submerged in water on the St. Lewis Causeway early this morning, Sept. 13.

Mary’s Harbour RCMP were called to the single-vehicle accident around 1:30 a.m., according to a release.

The three individuals were initially taken to the local clinic in Mary’s Harbour for treatment.

Police say one of the three people was seriously injured. The other two suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The RCMP is advising the public Route 510 near the St. Lewis Causeway is currently down to one lane and will be for most of the day. Delays should be expected.

Mary’s Harbour RCMP remain on the scene and a traffic analyst is headed to the scene.

The investigation into the cause of this crash in ongoing.
