TWILLINGATE, N.L.
NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR
CANADA
A motorist was caught driving nearly 70 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit on Route 330 on Sept. 14.
The Twillingate RCMP charged the driver for speeding over 51 km/h, impounded the vehicle for three days and issued a licence suspension for seven days, according to a release.
The RCMP reminds motorists recent changes to the Highway Traffic Act for excessive speeds mean larger fines, vehicle seizure and impoundments, and licence suspensions.
