Two arrested for drug trafficking following home search in Flat Bay

A 40-year-old man from Flat Bay and a 41-year-old woman from St. John’s have been arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking following the search of a home in Flat Bay last week.

In a prepared release, police said it was at about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday that the Bay St. George RCMP General Investigation Unit, along with local detachment members and RCMP Police Dog Services West, executed a search warrant on the residence.

Police allege that inside the home they located approximately a half pound (0.23 kg) of cocaine, a quantity of Canadian currency, two firearms and evidence of drug trafficking.

The investigation is ongoing and the two have been released from custody to appear in Stephenville Provincial Court in November.
