The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says at 8 p.m., a man was caught driving while impaired. The 54-year-old was arrested for impaired driving and driving over the legal limit, then released from custody. He’ll appear in court at a later date.

At 9:05 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the community. When they arrived, the driver of one of the vehicles had walked away. The RNC found the driver not far away from the scene.

According to a news release, a 33-year-old man involved in that incident now faces two charges of breaching a court order, driving with a suspended licence, driving with no insurance, and failure to transfer ownership of his vehicle. Police found the man also owes close to $10,000 in fines.

The man will appear in court Thursday morning. His vehicle was impounded.
