Two drivers nabbed for impaired driving in separate incidents

A pair of drivers in the Paradise area are facing impaired driving charges following two separate traffic stops in that area Tuesday night.
A call was made to the RNC around 5:30 p.m. reporting a 38-year-old female driver may be driving under the influence.
Her vehicle was stopped near the St. Thomas Line area and it was found after a breathalyzer test that she was over the legal limit and was charged with impaired driving, operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit of .08.
She was charged and released to appear in court at a later date.
In a separate incident around 11:30 p.m. on Topsail Road in Paradise, a 27-year-old male was charged with impaired driving following a traffic stop by RNC.
He also was found to have a blood alcohol level higher than .08.
He was charged and released for an upcoming court date and had his vehicle impounded.
At midnight, the RNC were called to a home in Mount Pearl after the an ambulance request was made for a resident that had been injured.
It was determined a 29-year-old man was responsible for the injuries of the individual in the home. He was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.
He was taken to jail overnight pending a court appearance Wednesday morning.
