The RNC says around 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a home in downtown St. John’s.

On arrival, they located a 55-year-old St. John’s man inside a vehicle belonging to the victim. According to police, the suspect forced his way inside the victim’s home, assaulted her and forced her to turn over the keys to her vehicle.

The RNC said he also resisted arrest and assaulted the police officers.

Around 2:30 p.m. Monday, RNC officers responded to another report of a break and entry in progress in the west end of St. John’s, where the property owner was home at the time.

An unidentified suspect reportedly entered the residence and was confronted by the homeowner. The suspect escaped and is described as approximately 20 years of age, five feet, nine inches tall, with short light hair. The suspect is believed to have left the area in a small grey car, make and model unknown.
