A pair of female passengers in a St. John’s cab were charged early Sunday morning for failing to pay their fare.
The women, ages 46 and 22, were charged with fraudulently getting taxi services and, when they arrived at their destination, failing to pay the driver for those services.
The incident occured in the Craigmillar Avenue area of St. John’s at approximately 7:50 a.m. when the two women arrived at a location in that area and left the cab without paying, prompting the driver to call the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
The women were released to appear in court at a later date.
