A 30-year-old man is in hospital following a stabbing on Southside Road in St. John’s on Tuesday night.
A 31-year-old man was located and arrested by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. He was charged with assault with a weapon and numerous breaches of court orders.
He was taken to lockup by police and held for a court appearance.
The incident happened at around 11:30 p.m.
When The Telegram arrived on scene there were four police vehicles parked in front of the home where the stabbing occurred. The victim had already been taken to hospital by Eastern Health ambulance, but police officers could be seen moving around both outside and inside the residence.
A forensic identification officer arrived soon after the incident and began photographing and documenting evidence.
The extet of the victims injuries are unknown at this time.
