Today is the day.
After a couple of false starts, volunteers arrived at Victoria Park to set up lanterns, tents, booths and the featured River of Light, constructed with glass lanterns that follow the path of an underground river that runs through Victoria Park in St. John’s.
We’ll follow their progress throughout the day just to give you an idea of how much work goes into this annual event.

Festival events begin at 2 p.m. with performances and workshops, including a yoga workshop and a juggling workshop. Lanterns will be lit at dusk, and a spectacular circus-themed show is set to begin in the ballpark around 9.pm.
