Sgt. Terry Greening of the Bonavista RCMP told The Packet they’ve investigated several break-and-enter and thefts at both businesses and residences in the town over the past two weeks.

Greening confirmed a woman has been charged.

She is before the courts to answer for 15 charges, including four counts of break-and-enter and several counts of possession of stolen property.

However, since the arrest, Greening says there has been more break-and-enters.

For that reason, he is recommending to the public to be vigilant with their property, including keep doors and windows closed and locked.

“Windows, especially,” says Greening. “Because, with the weather warming, people are going away with their windows open and leaving the screens across. It’s especially important to have those locked up.”
