One speeding ticket was not enough to deter a woman from speeding Friday afternoon, but the second ticket did the trick.
Shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday, Holyrood RCMP clocked a female driver in the eastbound lane going over 150 km/h. They stopped her, gave her a ticket, and she continued on her way.
But an hour later, the same patrol unit clocked the same woman in the westbound lane near Witless Bay Line going over 130 km/h. Police stopped her again, and gave her a second speeding ticket.
Holyrood RCMP said speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on the province’s roads. They are asking anyone who sees someone driving unsafely to report it by calling 911.
