An official with the St. John’s Regional fire department said the 34-year-old man fell about five meters during the incident and had to be rescued by co-workers who used a small boat to reach the him. The workers then brought the victim to shore where he was treated by Eastern Health paramedics and taken to hospital with a serious foot injury. The man was wearing a life-jacket. The investigation into the incident was turned over to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and occupational health and safety officials.
