St. John’s, N.L. — A Mount Pearl man was detained by police Saturday after officers reportedly found with 62 pounds of marijuana and one kilogram of hash in his luggage.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of Newfoundland and Labrador arrested the 33-year-old Saturday when he arrived from an inbound flight at St. John’s International Airport.

The man was released from custody and hasn’t been charged yet with possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking, as officers continue to investigate.
