GANDER, NL – After three appearances in Gander provincial court on Monday and Tuesday, Leke Loshi has consented to remain in custody until his Jan. 22 court date.
Loshi, age 24, from Bronx, New York, was charged after he allegedly became unruly, causing a Swiss air flight to be diverted to Gander on Jan. 13.
While the details of the case were not discussed, information filed by the RCMP claims Loshi, “did intentionally interfere with the performance of the duties of flight crew members thereby endangering the safety or security of an aircraft in flight or of persons on board contrary to section 7.41(1) of the Aeronautics Act., RSC 1985, Chapter A-2”
Presiding Judge Mark Linehan set the Jan 22 appearance for speedy disposition, telling Loshi he anticipates it will be his last court date.
