Ten private and three non-profit sector groups are developing the units, which include 13 fully accessible spaces.

“These new projects will provide persons with disabilities, families, single individuals and independent seniors greater opportunity to find the right housing for their needs,” Lisa Dempster, the province’s minister responsible for the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation stated in a news release.

Among the non-profits to receive investment is Channel-Port Aux Basques Gateway Village Corporation, which will use $1 million to build eight units.
