On Saturday morning, RCMP officers in Flower’s Cove and Port Saunders received a call that a lone man from Quebec would be crossing on the St. Barbe ferry carrying stolen property in his vehicle.
Police intercepted the vehicle and a 69-year-old Quebec man was arrested.
A search of his vehicle revealed no stolen property, but a large amount of tobacco and alcohol was found.
The man now faces liquor and tobacco related charges. His vehicle was also seized.
The man was released to appear in court in Port Au Choix this September.
