N.L. employers council presents distinction awards

The Newfoundland and Labrador Employers Council held its 2017 Employer of Distinction Awards Monday. The 2017 recipients were Newfoundland Power, represented by CEO Gary Smith; Stella’s Circle, Path of Distinction award, represented by CEO Lisa Browne; and Anaconda Mining, represented by Darrin Kitchen, mine comptroller.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Employers Council held its 2017 Employer of Distinction Awards ceremony during a Monday afternoon luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland on Cavendish Square in downtown St. John’s.

There were 10 companies short-listed for the awards. The 2017 recipients were Newfoundland Power, represented by CEO Gary Smith; Stella’s Circle, Path of Distinction award, represented by CEO Lisa Browne; and Anaconda Mining, represented by Darrin Kitchen, mine comptroller. The awards recognize successful and corporately responsible employers in the province who demonstrate leadership in the community, productivity and innovation, and a belief in the value of a healthy, safe and motivated workforce.
