The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) general investigation unit is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the man responsible for an armed robbery at a Village Mall jewelry store this week.

Thursday about 4:30 p.m., officers with RNC’s patrol services division and forensic identification services responded to a report of an armed robbery at Charm Diamond Centre.

Staff reported that shortly before 4:30 p.m., a lone man wearing a motorcycle helmet entered the store carrying a firearm and demanded jewelry. The man fled the store with an undisclosed amount of merchandise with a significant value, police say.

Nobody was physically injured.

The man is described as being 5’7”-5’10” tall with an average build and is believed to be Caucasian. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing dark baggy clothes and a motorcycle helmet.

Investigators say they are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the offence or the man coming or leaving the area on a motorcycle.

Also, anybody who has dash cam in their vehicle and was in the west end of St. John’s/Kilbride area is asked to review their footage and look for a motorcycle in the area between 4-5 p.m.

Anyone with information on this armed robbery is asked to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can now provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers Website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
