GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. – The wait to find out who will be gracing the Salmon Festival stage is finally over. Emerson Drive will headline the country-themed concert on July 14 at Shanawdithit Centennial Park
Mayor Barry Manuel and Coun. Shawn Feener announced the acts for the 2018 Salmon Festival April 24 in Grand Falls-Windsor council chambers.
“We have consciously made an effort to bring the Salmon Festival back to its roots, and back to the community,” said Manuel.

Aaron Pritchett, The Punters, Badger-native Kellie Loder, Newfoundland’s 8 Track Favourites, and Grand Falls-Windsor’s Rod Jackson with the Perfect Strangers rounds out the major concert lineup.
“This is us answering the fact that folks want country acts,” said Manuel.
A compilation video of the acts played for those in council chambers.
“It’s going to be a powerful and energetic show,” the mayor said.
Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium will host two concerts during the festival. July 13 will see The Tragically Hip tribute band Courage as well as The Mixtapes take the stage, while Mark Lowry will headline the gospel concert on July 15, with Newfoundland’s own Blair Lane set to open.
“Overall, it’s a community effort. We’re always open for suggestions,” said Manuel. “But for today, we ask for your support of the 2018 Salmon Festival.”
The festival will span five days, from July 12 to 16.
“This concert will attract patrons from all over the Exploits Valley, as well as other parts of the province,” said Feener in a press release.
Tickets for the main concert will go on sale May 5.
“We feel we’ve got a great show at an affordable price for everyone to enjoy,” Manuel said.
