BONAVISTA, N.L. — Kevin Allen, 37, is facing charges in connection with an incident that took place in Bonavista on April 16. That same incident - as confirmed by the local RCMP detachment when contacted by The Packet- resulted in Tyler Hicks, 26, being charged with attempted murder amongst other charges.

Allen is facing two charges of uttering threats and two charges of possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes. He will appear again in Clarenville provincial court Aug. 9. His first trial appearance was a summons on June 20.

Hicks is facing multiple charges related to the April 16 incident, including two charges of attempted murder, two charges of aggravated assault, six charges of assault, two charges of uttering threats to cause death, two charges of carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and a charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He will be back in court Aug. 2 for a status report.

Hicks is alleged to have used a bat and a car as weapons in the alleged assault.
