St. John’s, N.L. — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary reported today (Saturday) that they made three arrests in St. John’s for assaults in separate incidents.

Around 11 a.m. Friday police responded to an alleged assault at a residence in the west end of St John’s. As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old man was charged with common assault and released to appear in court at a later date. The victim was known to the accused but did not require medical attention as a result of the incident.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Friday operational patrol services responded to the west end of the city to a call of a disturbance in a home. A 38-year-old male was arrested for assault, uttering threats, resisting arrest and breaches of court orders. He was held at the lockup for court this morning.

Around  2 a.m. this morning a 23-year-old man was arrested in the downtown area for assault with a weapon, public mischief, obstruction of justice and several breaches of court orders. He was taken to city lockup to appear in court this morning.
