It was about 2C in St. John’s and the metro region as the sun came up on this Saturday morning, but it felt more like -1. While the day promises some sunshine, temperatures will peak at about 12 C this afternoon.

Environment Canada expects increasing cloudiness this morning. Winds will become southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 then increasing to 40 gusting to 70 near noon.

Tonight will be mainly cloudy. Showers are expected this evening and will end overnight. Amount 2 mm. Tonight’s wind will southwest 40 km/h gusting to 70. Temperatures are expected to settle at a low of 9C.

For Sunday, expect a mix of sun and cloud becoming cloudy in the afternoon. Wind will be from the west 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming light in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to steady, near 10C. Sunday night, expect periods of rain. Temperatures will decrease to about 5C.
