Lucas, 23, was wanted for first-degree murder, forcible confinement, robbery and arson after 25-year-old Steven Miller was found dead in Conception Bay South last week.
He left Newfoundland on the ferry from Argentia to North Sydney Saturday evening with 21-year-old Brady Myler, who was wanted on charges of theft, possession of stolen goods and possession of a weapon. Myler turned himself in to police in Halifax less than an hour after police released his mugshot and description Monday.
According to the RNC news release, Lucas was arrested around 11 a.m. Tuesday by the Halifax Regional Police's high-risk enforcement action team (HEAT) and patrol officers at a business in the area of Hollis and Duke Streets.
The RNC has investigators in Halifax who will bring Lucas back to St. John's in the coming days. Lucas will appear in provincial court at an unspecified date.
