Two arrested in St. John’s for separate downtown assaults

St. John’s, N.L. —A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with an assault that occurred shortly after 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. RNC officers were able to identify a suspect who was charged with assault and breach of peace bond. The suspect was taken to the lockup to await a court appearance.  

Later in the afternoon, around 4:35, the RNC responded to a report of another disturbance in the downtown area of St. John’s. A 17-year-old male had assaulted another male who had received minor injuries. The suspect was held for court on charges of assault with a weapon and breach of court order.
