St. John’s, N.L. — An attempted traffic stop at 3 a.m. this morning led to a female driver temporarily evading police.
The RNC officer tried to get a woman to pull over in the area of New Gower Street, but she refused to stop. After a couple of seconds, the officer disengaged and the suspect vehicle left the area.
A short time later the vehicle was located along with the 25-year-old driver.
She was arrested and charged with theft of vehicle, flight from police, dangerous driving and resisting arrest.
She was also issued several summary offence tickets.
The woman was released from custody and will make a court appearance at a later date.
