Of Fox Harbour, NL Passed away surrounded by the unconditional love of her husband Tom of over 42 years, and her devoted sons: Darryl (Denine), Thomas (Melissa) and Blair (Peggy) on August 26, 2018 at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, NL. Neat was a cherished mother to her sons and their families, she also leaves to mourn her three beloved grandchildren: Logan, Grace and Emily. Predeceased by her baby girl, which she will finally hold in her arms, and her parents, John and Ellen Whiffen; she also leaves to mourn her sisters: Sheila Ryan (Emmett) and Diane Whiffen; and her brothers: Brendan Whiffen and John Whiffen (Sherry). Neat will be forever remembered fondly and lovingly by her extensive circle of family and friends especially the Pittman family. Her loving and generous spirit will be missed by many who were blessed enough to have known her. Anita’s family would like to thank the nursing staff of the Lions Manor for their compassion and care over the last two years, and more recently the staff of the Placentia Health Centre, and the Heath Sciences Centre ER and 4SA. Also, a special thank-you to her steadfast honorary daughter-in-law, Denine Brenton for being with her throughout her deteriorating memory over the last two years. Those that have been touched by Neat's love and life are invited to join in honouring a beautiful wife, a dedicated mother and faithful grandmother, in a celebration of her life, on August 28 from 4:00 - 9:00 and August 29 from 2:00 - 9:00 at Coombs’ funeral home in Placentia, NL. Funeral mass to take place at Sacred Heart Church in Fox Harbour on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow at the Fox Harbour Community Centre. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:3.
