Cleophas "Cle" James Newhook

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Cle Newhook. Cle is predeceased by his loving parents Elizabeth and Ernest Newhook. He leaves his wife and love of his life, Deborah, with whom he shared 50 years of enormous happiness. He was devoted to his children Rebecca and Matthew and their partners Grant and Shirley as well as his grandchildren Lily, Elizabeth, Jennifer, William and Benjamin. Cle was loved by his sisters and brothers-in-law Florence, Allenby, Bessie, Jim, Barbara and Stan and his brud Don and wife Gloria. Unc will be missed by his nieces and nephews Wade, Paul, James, Patti, Lori, Rodney, Jennifer, Melanie and Flora. He leaves a large circle of friends and relatives the world over. Our grief is shared by so many. Cle led an exciting life both in the UK and in Newfoundland. He was a social and political activist in his many careers and was a fierce and passionate advocate for so many whose voices went unheard. His kindness and compassion will always be remembered. Cle was an extraordinary man who led a long, healthy life full of love, music, wit and charisma. His smile was like sunshine. He will leave a hole in the lives of all who knew him.
