Joseph Jude (Jody) (Jj) Cd White
Born in Stephenville, NL, Jody passed away at The Moncton Hospital, Moncton, NB on Friday, April 6 2018 at the age of 60 years. He is survived by his loving wife Karen, step-mother Judy, sisters Morine (Brad), Rosanna, Roxane, brother Bruce (Corinna) and nieces Jacqueline (Rob), Julianna (Matthew), Erin, Pearl, Evelyn and Maria. He is predeceased by his mother Margaret (1968), father Jude (2011) and brother Jonathan (2013). A man who brought tremendous joy to many people, Jody’s effervescent personality made you smile when he walked in the door and made sure you were laughing when he left. The eldest of his siblings, he was a loving, protective brother and to those he considered family, a fiercely loyal friend. Jody joined the Canadian Army and served from 1979-1998. A proud, consummate, soldier he was stationed with 1CSR in Kingston ON, 4 Service Battalion in Lahr, Germany, and the RCR and PPCLI in Baden Germany. He served with Construction Engineers in Kingston ON, Victoria BC and St. John’s NL. Jody loved sports and participated in Broom Ball (two national, and one international championship while in the military) Floor Hockey, Baseball, Slow-Pitch, Skiing, and Golf. He coached the West Colchester Commercial Men’s Hockey League in Debert NS and brought the team to the National Championship. A champion of children in sports, he could be seen on local fields, golf courses, and in local arenas coaching, mentoring and cheering on kids. Together for 38 years, Jody & Karen travelled Canada and Europe visiting family and friends, camping & exploring the backroads. We all remember the early morning phone calls for birthdays & the both of them showing up Christmas morning spreading cheer to family and friends, special targets were homes with children where they would be showered with gifts and love. A special thank you to Uncle Chris and Aunt Anne White, Christopher, Chad, Justin and their families, Cousin Karen & Doug Wood, and sister-in-law Dawna and her husband Russ Richard for their support and love. To all of the doctors and nurses who have taken care of Jody through the years, and especially the loving team on the Palliative Care Unit of the Moncton Hospital, we will be forever grateful for your compassion and caring. A Service to celebrate and honour Jody’s life will be held at a later date. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB (506-858-1995) in care of arrangements. Memorial donations in memory of Jody may be made to a local children’s sports organization. Online condolences for the family can be made at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com.
