Mary Desma Thistle (Pugh)

Passed peacefully away after a short illness on Saturday, May 5th, 2018, Mary Desma (Pugh) Thistle, daughter of Brett and Desma Pugh. Predeceased by her son Jim in 2016 and granddaughter, Gwendolyn in 2011, her sisters Jean Moore and Joyce Whitten. Leaving to mourn her husband of 64 years Jim Thistle; daughter Laurie Ryan (Terry); daughter-in-law Barbara Thistle; grandchildren: Wendy Russell, Stephanie (Brad) Greer, Paul (Lesley), Michael and Rachel; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Andrew and Grace Russell, Ethan Greer; sisters: Nita Baird and Noreen George; brothers: Brett Pugh and Jack Pugh; daughter-in-law, Jan Dicks; special friends: Marion Noseworthy, her friend of 70 years, Margie and Jim Brewer, Sylvia and Wilf Snelgrove; also a large circle of dear friends and relatives. Special thanks to Dr. John Jeddore and the staff of ICU and 4 South B of the Health Sciences Centre for their wonderful care. Cremation has taken place. At Mary’s request there will be no visitation. A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. No flowers by request.
