Mary Gloria Thorne (nee Field)

Passed peacefully away surrounded by family on August 22, 2018 at the age of 76. Predeceased by her parents Alfred and Eva (Gertie) Field of Torbay and husband Robert Malcolm Thorne of Torbay. Left with loving memories daughters Teena Hartman (Stephen) of New Brunswick and Tanya Russell (Kirk) of Torbay; precious grandchildren William Hartman (11 years), and Kiahna Russell (8 years); cherished sister Jeanette Brown (Gary) of Torbay, nephews Christopher and Trevor Brown; sisters-in-law Marg Thorne of St. John’s, Iola Koch of Pennsylvania, and brother-in-law Marvin Thorne (Marion) of New York, along with many loved nieces and nephews. Mary also leaves behind many dear friends in the town of Torbay and within the St. Nicholas Parish after decades of service to both. Her family gratefully acknowledges the exceptional care provided by the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Centre. Visitation will be at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday August 24 and Saturday August 25 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held at St. Nicholas Anglican Church, 13 St. Nicholas Lane, Torbay, on Sunday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
