RN It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Rae was born in Ardrossan, Scotland on March 11, 1943 and passed peacefully away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Pleasantview Towers in St. John’s. Left with loving memories is her husband Barry; daughters: Andrea and husband Craig, Karen, and Nicole and husband Trevor; her five grandchildren, who she adored: Benjamin and Madeline, Alec, Laura and Natalie; also her sisters: Grace Parsons, Dolores (Jim) Conway; brothers: William Pardy and Wilfred (Susan) Pardy; brother-in-law Merle (Diane) Darby, and sister-in-law Jessie Gilks; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and extended family in Corner Brook, Scotland and throughout Canada. She is predeceased by her parents, Wilson and Annie Pardy and brother-in-law Gordon Parsons. Rae was a graduate from the Salvation Army Grace General Hospital School of Nursing (Class of 1964) and loved being a nurse. We would like to extend our love and gratitude to the staff and former co-workers at Hoyles/Escasoni and Pleasantview Towers for their care of Rachel over these past years. Cremation has already taken place. Visitation will be at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday, June 19 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and Wednesday, June 20th from 2-9 pm. Funeral will take place on Thursday, June 21st, 2018 at 1 pm from St. James United Church, Elizabeth Ave. Interment to follow at Southland’s Memorial Gardens.
