Sister Elizabeth Lawlor (Formerly Sr. M. Stanislaus)

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family, the Sisters, and Father Francis Slattery, Chaplain at Presentation Convent, Cathedral Square, St. John’s on Sunday, March 4, 2018, aged 94 years. Predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Thomas Lawlor; her eight sisters Mary (Harold) Near, Alice (Ellis) Hall, Margaret (Francis) Hamilton, Joan (Stan) Cunningham, Madeline (Cecil) Hamel, Gertrude (John) Dawson, Kathleen (John) Flynn, Florence and five brothers Tom (Mary), John (Ellen), Cyril (Cecilia), Walter and Leo. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are her devoted and attentive nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews and one great-great-grand nephew, other relatives, friends, former students and the Presentation Sisters. The family thanks the nursing staff at Presentation for the wonderful attention they gave Sister Elizabeth during her illness. Sister Elizabeth is resting at Presentation Motherhouse, Cathedral Square, St. John’s. Visitation will take place on Monday, March 5th from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 6th from 10-12; 2-4, and 7-9, with a Vigil Service at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Wednesday, March 7th at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Presentation Cemetery, Cathedral Square.
