Walter Gibbons

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Palliative Care, St. John’s, Walter Francis Gibbons, of St. Vincent’s, S.M.B., aged 79 years. Predeceased by his two children Dianna and Ula, parents Sebastian and Dominica, brothers Vincent and Tim, sister Geraldine, grandson Kristopher Tuff and sister-in-law Annie Gibbons. Leaving to celebrate his life, his wife Margaret (nee Lee); children: Gail (John), Gerard (Mildred “Ming”), Dominica (Marc), Wally (Sherry), Warren and Pamela (Chris); grandchildren: Tabitha and Dianna, Tiffany and Gavin; Alexander, Emma and Jack; Isabelle, Cassandra and Jazmine, Chantele; great-grandchildren: Rylan, Declain and Charlie, Addisyn and Maliah, Abigail, Skyla and Jaxxton: brothers: John, Cas (Bernadette) and Gerald; sisters: Lillian (Harold), Agnes (Dermot) Halleran, Liz (Matt) and Bev, sister-in-law Monnie and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thank you is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff at Palliative Care who made Dad’s final days comfortable and at ease. Resting at Fr. Battcock Memorial Chapel, St. Vincent’s, on Monday, February 12, from 1 – 4pm; 7 – 9pm and Tuesday, February 13, 2 – 4pm; 7 – 9pm. Walter’s life will be celebrated during “Ash Wednesday” Mass, on February 14, at 10am, at Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent’s. Burial to follow. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H.
