Jeers: To the MHA who cries wolf. Tory MHA Steve Kent was busy in the lead-up to budget day tweeting dire warnings about government spending items he said were on the chopping block. “(Health Minister John) Haggie and Liberals will cut over $100 million from system next week without any real plan,” he tweeted March 30. The problem is, that wasn’t in the April 6th budget. That’s not to say health cuts won’t come, but perhaps Kent would cause less anxiety and stress among health-care employees if he saved his pronouncements for when he actually had solid information. He isn’t helping a tense situation by playing politics on social media when people have legitimate fears for their jobs.
