Kenn Oliver’s article in The Telegram on Wednesday, Dec. 6, on the Upper Churchill Falls hydroelectric project making its way to the top court was timely and interesting.
Let us hope this last effort to get a fair ruling will be to Newfoundland and Labrador’s benefit. After all, it is all about fairness.
There have been many changes over the past 30 years and for the next 24 years of the contract the profits should be equally shared. The fine people of Quebec, I am sure, would be quite willing to agree to that.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s finances are in a terrible state and this is the only hope of solvency in the future. We need wise and well-educated leaders to lead us forward. Newfoundland and Labrador has done more that her part in two World Wars — more in proportion than any other country.
Let us go forward together and make Newfoundland and Labrador great again!
