My name is Mike Ince. I live in St. John’s but am currently at the end of a five-week rehab program at the Grace Centre in Harbour Grace.

I am an alcoholic and have tried several times to quit. It is difficult leaving rehab and stepping back into an environment that you went to rehab to get away from.

A transition house, a platform, a stepping stone back into society would be extremely helpful in recovery. It could quite possibly save lives.

One such facility was voted down last year by some of Victoria’s residents. That kind of close-mindedness hampers progress.
