Beautiful scenery doesn’t need Photoshop

I lived out West for many years. I also went to Gros Morne many times — a magnificent park that does not need any candy-coating Photoshop or other trickery that passes for real these days.

Awhile ago, while watching TV, I saw that Newfoundland tourism ad again. It reminded me of what I heard from several people I met out West (business owners, vice-president of a bank, seasoned travellers who could well afford to get the view from the top) who also saw a similar ad several years ago — and went.

Their only comment that I remember on their return: “Never again.”

That kind of marketing you can’t buy.
