Addressing the sophistication as stated by a Mr. Ed Healy in Monday’s edition (“All in for Ash Wednesday,” Feb. 26) makes me think I hit a sore spot with my previous letter, though certainly unintentionally regarding Ash Wednesday.

And to think that townies think they are more sophisticated is just asinine; I hope that word is suitable, or should I say sophisticated. I am at a loss as to who Mr. Healy is trying to impress. All I would hope for is that a sacred day like Ash Wednesday would get the same media recognition as other apparent special days and parades on the Newfoundland and Labrador calendar, not to prolong it and without the long dialogue.

God for us all, even the sophisticated.
