City releases St. John’s roadwork warnings for Dec. 9-13

The City of St. John’s has issued the street rehabilitation list for the week of Dec. 9-13.
Work will begin Monday at 7 a.m and end Friday no later than 10 p.m.

Projects could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning, culvert  installation or heater scarifying.

The following roads will be affected:

Columbus Drive ­ Pennywell Road to Empire Avenue (Southbound)

Pennywell Road ­ Golf Avenue to Cashin Avenue

Kenmount Road (Sidewalk work) ­ Pippy Place to Ladysmith Drive

Groves Road

Topsail Road at Columbus Drive

Adams Avenue

Outer Battery

Westerland Road

    The signage that is displayed at these road work sites is rediculas ,eg..signage saying the left lane ends when in actual fact its the right lane, leaving signage up after the work is done. I'm so surprised that the city hasn't been involved in multi-million dollar lawsuits yet.

    They forgot one of the busiest streets in the City, Portugal Cove Rd, reduced to single lane going North to the Airport, lane merge causes congestion around Holiday Inn traffic light, merge sign needs to be put further back towards the fire station. This is work they said they would do in July or August. It would make sense at that time of year with less traffic, now its a nightmare.
