Tibbo brothers finish one-two in provincial men’s amateur

Matthew Tibbo of Blomidon Golf Club shot a three-day score of 232 to defeat his brother and clubmate Michael Tibbo by five strokes to win the men’s amateur title at the 2014 Royal LePage Adult Provincial Golf Championships at Grande Meadows course in Frenchman’s Cove on the Burin Peninsula over the weekend.

Matthew Tibbo put together scores of 78, 74 and 80 for his total.

Jonathan Hunt of Clovelly (241) was third, followed by Jordan Pittman of Twin Rivers Golf Course (242).

Erin Lundrigan of host Grande Meadows captured the ladies’ amateur crown with a 255 total from single day scores of 82, 88 and 85.

Allison Crawford of Clovelly placed second at 269, followed by Kathleen Jean of Harmon Seaside Links on 271 and Shelley Keeping of Grande Meadows at 273.
