Memorial Sea-Hawks varsity swimmer Jasmine Foran is The Telegram sports department’s choice as athlete of the week.
Foran was outstanding last weekend at the Atlantic University Sport swimming championship in Saint John, N.B., winning four gold medals in the 50-, 100- and 200-metre breaststroke, and 200m individual medley.
In addition to that, the Bathurst, N.B. swimmer won a silver medal with the Sea-Hawks’ 400m medley relay team, and two bronze medals with Memorial’s 400m and 800m freestyle teams.
Prior to the meet, Foran was named the conference’s female rookie of the year. She will compete in the U Sports nationals which open Thursday at the University of Toronto.
