Three weeks after the OMT Shammies claimed their second straight St. John’s senior title, the intermediate Green and Gold did the same, capping things off with a 7-5 win over Holy Cross Saturday at St. Pat’s Ball Park.

The Shamrocks had also defeated Holy Cross in the 2016 intermediate final.

Holy Cross had led this year’s best-of-seven final two games to one, but the Shamrocks rattled off three consecutive wins in four days, beating the Crusaders 5-1 on Thursday and 6-3 on Saturday before their series-clinching victory on Sunday.

On Sunday, Shammies’ starting pitcher Zack Fitzpatrick got the win, helping his own cause by reaching base safely three times on two singles and a walk.

Members of the winning team include Fitzpatrick, Peter Cornick, Ben Murphy, Cody Colbert, Jaxson Gulliver, Parker Gulliver, Redmond Hunt, Joel Abbott, Graham King, Liam Buckingham, Bernie Morgan, Brad Porter, Raygan Gulliver, Dylan Mackenzie, Colin Rose, Josh Fifield and Josh Langmead.

The Shammies’ coaches are Sean Gulliver, Neil Mackenzie, Colin Abbott and Brian Fitzpatrick.
