The RMM Gonzaga Vikings are the 2017 Provincial Baseball Senior Club Championship tournament champions.

In a game played July 02 at Jubilee Field in Corner Brook, Vikings starter Ryan Morgan held the Wing’n It Marlins to just three hits in six innings of work as Gonzaga shutout their opponents 15-0.

Bernie Madden lead way for Gonzaga at the plate as he went 3-for-5 with six runs batted in. That included a two-run homerun in the top of the seventh inning to top a 10-run frame for the Vikings.

Mike O’Neill had two hits in four trips to the plate, while Andrew Paul was a perfect 4-for-4 in the victory. Peter Madden and Ryan Hodder also had hits for Gonzaga.

For the Marlins, Ryan Park was the top man at the plate with two hits in three plate appearances with a walk. Wayne Hicks had the other hit off of Morgan, while Chris Dobbin knocked a single in the bottom of the seventh off of Vikings reliever Alan Saunders.

In semifinal action on Sunday night, Gonzaga knocked off the Fieldians 10-4 and the Marlins outlasted the Veitch’s Ultramar Hawks 9-7.
