Newfoundland managed a 1-3 record at the Canadian 21-years and under baseball championship which finished up Sunday in St. Thomas, Ont.
Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba were all 1-3 to bring up the rear in the 10-team tournament.
This province didn’t exactly get off on the right foot, losing its opening game 20-0 in four innings to Mississauga, Ont. Ontario plated 10 runs in the first inning, and nine in the second.
However, Newfoundland rebounded to beat Manitoba 8-3 before dropping 13-3 and 8-3 losses to Oshawa, Ont. and New Brunswick.
