St. John's intermediate baseball: League's top two teams post wins on Wednesday

Zach Fitzpatrick allowed just two hits and struck out nine batters over five innings as the league-leading OMT Shamrocks blanked the Rona Storm 13-0 in St. John’s Molson intermediate baseball Wednesday night at St. Pat’s Ball Park.

Raygan Gulliver reached base three times (two hits, walk) and scored twice for the Shamrocks (13-3). Aaron Clarke (5R, 2ER), the first of five pitchers for the Storm (8-8) took the loss in the game shortened by the mercy rule.
In Wednesday’s other league contest, Holy Cross downed the Sundance Feildians 6-2.
Bradley Riggs (7H, 1ER, 3W, 8K) got the win for the second-place Crusaders (12-5), while Heather Healey of Feildians (6-11) took the loss despite giving up just one earned run in six innings.
Phil Edwards had three hits for Holy Cross, while Matt Kean had two singles and a walk for the Double Blues.
