Big wheels keep on turning; monster trucks will roll at Eastbound Park in July

hat’s being dubbed the largest-ever monster truck show produced in the province is coming to Eastbound Park in Avondale this summer.
Napa Auto Parts World Series of Monster Trucks presented by The Telegram is holding three mega shows at Eastbound July 20-22 to help celebrate the park’s fifth anniversary. The shows will involve eight elite monster trucks as well as freestyle motocross.
Three-time world champion Jimmy Creten’s Bounty Hunter is set to challenge a fleet of trucks that also includes 2015 Monster Jam freestyle world champion Michael Vaters II in Overkill Evolution.
Other monster truck entries will be Mike Vaters in Black Stallion, Dawn Creten in Scarlett Bandit, Mike Christianson in Knucklehead, Austin Minton in Iron Outlaw, Matt Coady in Iron Warrior and the school bus-themed Higher Education driven by Corey Snyder.
Ticket prices will start at $20 (plus surcharge) and include free entry to the meet and greet session with drivers, better knowns as the Party in The Pits. Tickets will be available at participating North Atlantic Orange Stores or online at www.eastboundpark.com starting noon Thursday.
For its fifth anniversary year, Eastbound — which is an official NASCAR and IHRA sanction motorsport facility — will have events over 32 days in 2018. In partnership with Action Car and Truck Accessories, the park will be showcasing NASCAR racing, Action Tuff Trucks and Major League of Freestyle Motocross, which will include Summer X Games, Red Bull X Fighter, and Masters of Dirt high flyer Brody Wilson.
“Fans are in for a real treat in 2018 as Eastbound International Speedway is cranking it up to celebrate its fifth-year anniversary (and) the 2018 NAPA Auto Parts World Series of Monster Trucks is going to be a highlight for young and old,” said Mike Janes, Eastbound’s director of events in a release.
