Nico Boheme scored twice as the Conception Bay South Strikers downed Paradise SC 3-1 in Johnson Insurance Challenge Cup soccer play at the C.B.S. Sports Complex in Topsail Wednesday night.
Boheme scored what would stand as the game-winner early in the second half and added an insurance marker in the late going as C.B.S. (1-1) posted its first win of the young provincial senior men’s soccer season.
Nate Jones of the Strikers had opened the scoring in the contest.
Greg Furlong scored in a losing cause for Paradise, but it was a historic goal nonetheless, since it was the first-ever Challenge Cup tally for the brand-new team. Paradise had been shut out in its only other outing this season.
