Curtis and Co. working on strong finish at Scotties Tournament of Hearts

The Curtis rink from St. John’s, which also includes Erin Porter, Julie Devereaux and Erica Trickett, had lost six straight games to fall out of playoff contention, but got back into the win column twice Thursday in St. Catharines, Ont., defeating the Northwest Territories 7-4 and Prince Edward Island 10-4.

That leaves Newfoundland with a 4-6 record heading into its final round-robin game against Nova Scotia this morning.

This is Curtis’s fourth trip to the Scotties and the four wins are the most she’s had at the event. She had one win in her first trip to the Scotties (2011), won twice in 2013 and three times last year.
