Boland, third Stephen Trickett, second Zach Young and lead Evan Kearley won twice Monday, including a 10-2 decision over host Lakehead University and 8-6 over Regina. With Atlantic conference champion Memorial at 5-0, and Alberta and P.E.I. — teams the Sea-Hawks have allready defeated — tied for second place at 3-2 the Boland rink is not only assured a berth in Wednesday’s playoffs, but also a first-place finish in the round robin.
Memorial, which is coached by Gary Ryan, finishes its round robin schedule with games against Dalhousie and Queens today.
The top four teams in the eight-team event advance to Wednesday’s playoff round.
