The Memorial University Sea-Hawks are the 2017 U Sports Canadian university men’s curling champions.

The Memorial rink, skipped by Adam Boland and including Stephen Trickett, Zach Young and Evan Kearley, defeated the University of Alberta Golden Bears 8-4 in the gold-medal game this afternoon in Thunder Bay, Ont.
The Boland rink was undefeated in the event, racking up nine consecutive wins, finishing up by beating Alberta.
The Golden Bears, skipped by 2015 Canadian university champion Thomas Scoffin, led 2-1 at the fifth-end break, but Memorial scored three in the sixth to take the lead for good, cinching the victory with a score of four in the eighth end.
The Sea-Hawks — coached by Gary Ryan — have won 15 consecutive university-level games, including six straight last month in Truro, N.S., as they took the Atlantic Conference (AUS) title.
